Samsung has announced a new slider phone called the Samsung UltraTouch S8300. The mobile will come with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface which has also been enhanced by a lot of exciting features. Instead of a regular touch screen, the phone has got a 2.8 inch AMOLED Touch Screen having 16 million colors and 400 X 240 pixels. The mobile has a polished design contained within a metal frame thus giving it a stylish look.
The Touch Screen used in the phone has also got anti scratch and anti smudge features making it quite revolutionary. Even with the slider design, the phone is only 12.7 mm thick. The phone has a 8MP CMOS dual powered LED camera having features like flash, video recording, face detection, auto focus and smile shot as well as geo tagging. It can also record VGA videos at 30 FPS. It also has a front-facing webcam for 3G video calling. Other features include AGPS, Bluetooth 2.1, an FM radio with RDS and it can also connect over the 7.2 Mbps HSDPA network. It has a lot of multimedia capabilities and comes with 80 MB of inbuilt memory which can be extended to 16GB by using microSD card.
The phone will be showcased at the Mobile World Congress. No details about the pricing and availability is yet known.
