Smartphones face a tough competition with the launch of Blackberry Bold in India. The smartphone from Research In Motion (RIM) is very different from the other Blackberry as it now has support for high speed 3G networks as well as 802.11 a/b/g Wireless LAN. Earlier, Blackberry’s were targeted for business people, now with the multimedia capability of Blackberry Bold, it can be used by everyone.
It has a crystal clear 480 X 232 resolution LCD display, 2 MP camera with video recording, an advanced media player for music, videos and pictures. The integrated GPS support is also provided so the smartphone can also use various location based applications and services. It is powered by a 624 MHz mobile processor and has 128 MB of Flash memory and 1 GB of external memory. The high performance browser along with the trackball makes it easier to navigate websites in either desktop or the mobile view.
Now it is possible to talk on the phone even while sending emails, using GPS or browsing the web. Editing Word, Powerpoint documents is also a lot easier thanks to preloaded DataViz Documents to Go software suite. It also support hands-free headsets, a noise cancellation technology and mp3, polyphonic and midi ringtones. It is sure packed with a lot of features that makes it ideal for business as well as personal requirements. Even the design and sleek finish look stunningly beautiful.
The phone is priced at Rs 34,990 and will be available at the the end of this month through Reliance, Airtel and Vodafone.
