Garmin-Asus Announces nuvifone M20 Handset

A lot of cool mobile phones are going to be showcased at the Mobile World Congress which takes place from Feb 16-19, 2009 in Barcelona. Garmin-Asus which is a co-branded alliance between Garmin Ltd. and Asustek Computer Inc has announced a new nuvifone M20 handset. It is an all in one phone having mobile web browser, enterprise email enabled and navigation system running on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system.

It has a 2.8 inch TFT touchscreen with 65k colors and Accelerometer. It has a 3MP auto focus camera with Geotagging support. It also includes GPS with A-GPS support. It takes GPS navigation to a new level by using a suite of online applications and data from Garmin-Asus that adds location intelligence to navigation, phone and browser functions. Connectivity options include 3.5G tri-band support, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB. The Full QWERTY soft keyboard makes typing email much easier. It comes with 4GB or 8GB of flash storage. It also includes ‘Ciao!’, a Location Based Service application that helps users stay up to date on their friend’s whereabouts and status by linking location-centric social networks.

The phone is expected to be available in the first half of 2009. More info about the phone and pricing will be revealed at the MWC 2009.
