The HTC Touch HD is Here

Yesterday, HTC rolled out there newest touch model, the Touch HD and it looks like it might give a good competition to existing smart-phones. One of its main features is the 3.8 inch Widescreen VGA display which spans 480 X 800 pixels, which i think is the largest display on a smart-phone, making it ideal for watching movies or surfing the net. So it might even give the experience of a desktop PC.

Other features include a 5 MP camera with auto focus, and like the other Touch series models, it has a TouchFlo 3D interface and is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1. It has a quad band connectivity, 3G which supports European 3G networks, GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi. It is powered by Qualcomm MSM 7201A 528 MHz processor and has 288 MB RAM. It comes with 512 MB of Flash memory and microSD card support. It support 3.5 mm headset jack so normal headphones can also be used with it. It can give a talktime of around 6 hours and standby time of 450 hours and it weights only 146 gms with Battery.

The phone will be available in India by the end of this year. No pricing details is announced but it will be less than iPhone 3G or Nokia N96.

Blackberry Bold Arrives in India

Smartphones face a tough competition with the launch of Blackberry Bold in India. The smartphone from Research In Motion (RIM) is very different from the other Blackberry as it now has support for high speed 3G networks as well as 802.11 a/b/g Wireless LAN. Earlier, Blackberry’s were targeted for business people, now with the multimedia capability of Blackberry Bold, it can be used by everyone.

It has a crystal clear 480 X 232 resolution LCD display, 2 MP camera with video recording, an advanced media player for music, videos and pictures. The integrated GPS support is also provided so the smartphone can also use various location based applications and services. It is powered by a 624 MHz mobile processor and has 128 MB of Flash memory and 1 GB of external memory. The high performance browser along with the trackball makes it easier to navigate websites in either desktop or the mobile view.

Now it is possible to talk on the phone even while sending emails, using GPS or browsing the web. Editing Word, Powerpoint documents is also a lot easier thanks to preloaded DataViz Documents to Go software suite. It also support hands-free headsets, a noise cancellation technology and mp3, polyphonic and midi ringtones. It is sure packed with a lot of features that makes it ideal for business as well as personal requirements. Even the design and sleek finish look stunningly beautiful.

The phone is priced at Rs 34,990 and will be available at the the end of this month through Reliance, Airtel and Vodafone.

Two new Nokia Phones leaked: E72 and E75

Leaking of phone before launch is a big problem for all phone manufactures specially when they are still in development. Nokia is no separate from the fear. The two new phones which are currently under development have been leaked. Not only the pictures have been leaked but this time the leakers managed to get the promotional video which was created for the marketing of phones. The phones are upcoming stars of the famous Nokia E series.

Both E series phone looks like upcoming market beaters. The side sliding E75 looks gorgeous whereas the other one, E72 is candy bar style phone. Not much info is available currently except the pictures and a Youtube video. In the era of messaging over messengers or performing a VOIP call over internet these handsets looks promising with their QWERTY keyboard packed in.

The E series is always known for bringing latest features at comparative cheaper price than the N series. Now lets hope for Nokia to announce this two delicious handsets with their complete detailed specifications.

Samsung Announce “The Beat Edition” Music Phones

Get Ready to rock to the beat with Samsung’s “The Beat Edition” music phone series. It is new music phone series from Samsung and it will start off with two models, the Samsung BEATb (M3510) and BEATs (M3200). These phone will be equipped with the new “Motion Play” technology that will allow music to be controlled through simple motion. Music can be play/pause by tapping the phone, sound can be muted by flipping it and song can be changes by shaking it.

Both the handsets will be equipped with Samsung’s Digital Natural Sound Engine which will provide more natural 3D sound effects and resonance. Along with the’Motion Play” technology, they will also have music control keys on the outside to play/pause, forward, rewind the music. They can also be used for other purpose like playing games or sending message. One of the unique features is the ‘Auto EQ’ function which will automatically change the equalizer to best settings based on the beats of the songs.

The Samsung BEATb is a slim bar music phone which comes with a 2inch LCD screen, 2 MP camera, a 3.5mm jack input, BlueTooth 2.0 and support for mp3, wma, aac, aac+ formats. It is very slim and just 9.9 mm thin. The BEATs is a slider phone. Apart from having almost the same features as the BEATb phone, it is equipped with an amplifier as well as a stereo speaker to provide a much better sound quality.

The Samsung BEATb will be first launched and will be available in September. The BEATs will follow and will be available in October. The pricing details are not yet announced but i think they will be mid range. And looking at there features, they can provide some good competition to existing music phones.

Samsung Armani Phone Comes to Europe

More and more designers are now being used to design Tech products such as Mobile Phones or even mp3 players. This time, Samsung and world famous designer Giorgio Armani have joined hands the present a very fashionable phone which is being called as Emporio Armani Night Effect or simple the M7500.

The Candybar handset is quite slim and has a thickness of only 12mm. The sides of the handset comes embedded with flashy LEDs and Emporio Armani name is also embedded in the side. These light will make people take notice of your phone at night and therefore the phone is called Night Effect. Other than that, it has a 2.2 inch OLED display, a 3.2 MP camera, Bluetooth with A2DP, FM Radio and HSDPA. Users can also play mp3 and wma music on the phone. It has an internal memory of 120 MB which can be extended by microSD card support.

The phone will be available in November in Europe and will make way to Asia, America after that. The pricing is not yet known. Lets see how much of a fashion conscious mobile users it will attract.

Nokia N85 Hands On - The ultimate phone

It has been just a few days Nokia launched the next in Nseries the N85 featuring a 5 MP camera, an inbuilt FM Transmitter. This tempting handset filled with great features and topped with trendy looks will surely make you stand out, giving girls around a great impression on you. The phone much looks like a mixture of N81 and the N95. Same as N95 its a dual slider phone with dedicated Music keys but the shape is moulded same as of the N81. Google Phone Coming on October 22

The T-Mobile G1, the first phone to be powered by Google’s Android was revealed yesterday and it does resemble an iPhone but with a full QWERTY keyboard. The phone has a large touch screen and since it runs on Android, it will offer easy access to Internet and especially gmail and other programs.

Through Android, Google aims to make Internet browsing much more easier through cellphones thus allowing them to make there search engine and other services also accessible. The G1 has a large screen and a trackball which makes browsing much simpler. Similar to the iPhone App store, there will be an Android store where users can download applications for there phone which can be developed by third parties. Though it won’t connect with Apple iTune’s store, users can access Amazon’s mp3 store to buy and download sound tracks.

The Internet browser in the phone will be Chrome lite, which will be based on Google Chrome. The phone will also support multitasking so now you can do several things at once. It will also have Drag-Drop and Copy-Paste support. It will have a 3.1 MP camera and WiFi support. The memory can be increased by using the microSD card slot which supports upto 8GB. It will have a talk time of 5 hours and standby time of 130 hours.

The phone will be available through T-Mobile in the US on October 22 for a price of $179 for a two year contract. It will then be released in UK by early Novemeber and Germany, Netherlands, Austria might get it in the first quarter of 2009.
